Special Instructions

Please submit two PDF files:

    1.    Regular full color artwork
    2.    Spot UV template indicating the area of the SPOT UV

On template file, indicate area of SPOT UV by using 100% K. Non UV areas should be white. For best results, ensure this file is vector.

If seeking overall UV coating on one side, ensure that you order SPOT UV coating on two sides; page with overall coating should be indicated so on template file with 100% K taking up entire page

If ordering a 4/4 job with Spot UV on only one side, please ensure that page 1 of your artwork is the spot UV side

Spot UV

Art cannot be extended to cutting edges, otherwise there is a high possibility for the varnish to peel off (there should be at least 5mm of free-varnish area around cutting edges). Failing to do so will result into delays and/or creating product that is not as per expectation.

Spot UV accuracy

Positioning of the spot UV cannot be 100% guaranteed. Please note that there may be a shift of approximately 1/16" in the spot UV position on the printed product.
Therefore we recommend that the spot UV not be placed on small text or very small images.

Promotional Product & Apparel Guidelines (Promo Product / Apparel)

  1. Please view the description of your Promo Product or Apparel Product on our website
  2. You will find a "Ideal image size in Pixels" notice.
  3. Please ensure your file is at minimum that pixel size for proper printing.
  4. If you are unsure of pixel size within your design/design software, please upload your graphics and select "Yes. Please Email a Proof" and we'll advise if any issues.

General File Guidelines (Business Cards / Print Products / Large Format)

  1. Download our guides to ensure a more optimal print result (labeled as "Free Templates" on most product pages). NOTE: You may contact us and we can email you a pre-made design template if your template isn't online.
  2. Each job (including multiple paged projects) must be submitted as individual PDF files (such as 1 for Front and 1 for Back). Ensure that all pages are the same size.
  3. Files must be submitted with proper orientation to ensure proper back up.
  4. It is best to try to avoid using borders in your design. If a border is too close to the trim, the trim may be slightly off-center.
  5. File must consist of 1/8" bleed and all important art and text must be within the safety margin.
  6. Ensure that your PDF is high res and that all images are CMYK at 300 DPI.
  7. Black type should have the following values: C0, M0, Y0, K100.
  8. Embed or outline all fonts.
  9. For best colour results, supply a CMYK only files.

IMPORTANT: When uploading multiple files to your order, label each file appropriately such as "Front_File" and "Back_File" especially for "C1S" products (Coated One Side), otherwise we will choose which file is the front ourselves.

Important Note for Foil Products (Foil Cards, Foiling Options etc..)
For best results, we strongly recommend you ensure the following to avoid delays and/or unexpected print results.

  1. Supply fonts larger than 8pt
  2. Use sans serif fonts
  3. Avoid having artwork underneath the foil areas (i.e. using a mask instead)
  4. Avoid areas of heavy foil coverage with small/fine (non-foil) text or linework knocked out, as there is a tendency for these to fill in.
  5. Leave at least a 5mm (approximately 0.20") foil-free area around the edges. Extending the metallic foil design to the edge of the card creates a high possibility of the foil peeling off.
